Baxter, MN - On May 16, 2019, Rachel Carpenter, Vice President of Retail Banking at Deerwood Bank, graduated from the Minnesota Bankers Association (MBA) Leadership Development Academy. This year-long program, which graduated a total of 19 bankers in 2019, provides in-depth skill-building for bankers preparing for critical leadership roles in their banks. Carpenter was elected as MBA class president for her graduating class, as well as recently elected to represent Minnesota by serving on the American Bankers Associations Emerging Leaders Council. "The MBA Leadership Development Academy requires a significant commitment to professional and personal growth" said Joe Witt, MBA President/CEO. "It is intensive and challenging. Graduates of this program should be very proud of this accomplishment and their determination to grow as individuals and bank leaders."
The MBA Leadership Development Academy was launched by the MBA to provide additional training for the next generation of Minnesotas bank leaders. "When we first learned about this program, we immediately saw the potential to help us strengthen our leadership capacity and grow our future leaders," said John Ohlin, President and CEO of Deerwood Bank. "We couldnt be more proud of her for completing the program, and we look forward to the positive impact this experience will have on the future of our bank and the communities we serve."
