Last week, the Baxter City Council approved plans for a Casey's General Store and fuel station at the former Imgrund property off Baxter Drive.
The council approved a consolidation of two lots into one for the site and a conditional use permit for cross access along with a setback variance. Plans are to demolish the former Imgrund building. Construction on Casey's is expected to begin this summer.
The council also approved the recommendation to modify the access on Baxter Drive so it lines up with the Mills Honda access across the street, which also helped in a concern the Minnesota Department of Transportation had in space for vehicle stacking.
Plans are for the Casey's General Store to be on the south side of the property with a canopy and the gas pumps in front closer to Highway 210.
On the west side of the Valvoline station the other former Imgrund building also has a new owner in Toyota.
