Gull Lake Glass is leaving its West Washington Street site to make way for the arrival of Dunkin' Donuts in Brainerd.
Dunkin' Donuts is working through the design and building plan and approvals with the city's permit process.
"We are definitely moving down the track," said Matt Johnson, who works with land and lease development out of the Hinckley-based office.
Construction on the Dunkin' Donuts is anticipated in the late fall for a spring 2016 opening.
While Gull Lake Glass reports it sold its Washington Street site for the doughnut shop, it will still serve customers from its main office on Highway 371.

The auto glass business expanded into a second location near Riverside Elementary School and across from Walgreens in 2012. Gull Lake Glass, which started in a garage in East Gull Lake, grew into a business with a storefront on Highway 371. The expansion into Brainerd nearly three years ago, provided a site where they could grow visibility in the city and specialize in auto glass repair there. Gull Lake Glass offers services for auto, home, automatic doors and commercial projects.
The planned construction of the doughnut shop in Brainerd is part of Dunkin' Donuts return to Minnesota. The first one was in Rochester and the first free-standing one is opening this year near the Miller Hill Mall in Duluth. The Brainerd location will be the third Dunkin' Donuts in Minnesota.
Seven Dunkin' Donuts are planned with the return of the business to Minnesota after an absence.
In Brainerd, Dunkin' Donuts is designing a shop with drive-through. It will offer coffee, doughnuts, breakfast and lunch menu items, iced coffee beverages. Expectations are to hire about 40 to 50 people.
