BAXTER-Seth Sazama, with Sazama Family Chiropractic and Wellness in Baxter, piled cereal boxes into a grocery cart Tuesday during the second annual Neighborhood National Bank Grocery Grab at Cub Foods in Baxter.
This year's winner, Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, was able to walk away with the bank picking up its grocery tab. This year, nine teams raised $8,495.01 in 45 minutes. All the food will be given to five local food shelves in the Brainerd lakes area.
The event is a timed race with teams consisting of two shoppers and three carts. One team member must have their hands on the cart at all times while the other grabs the food. Each team has 90 seconds to get as much food in the carts as possible. The team with the highest dollar amount in their cart has those groceries paid for by Neighborhood National Bank.
The team members who don't score the highest, pay for their own cartloads. Contact Neighborhood National Bank in Brainerd at 218-825-8800 if interested in grabbing groceries for a good cause.
