Madden's on Gull Lake received the award for "Best Golf Venue" March 31 from Minnesota Meetings and Events magazine.
"We are honored to win an award that recognizes us as a favorite destination golf resort," said Abbey Piper, vice president of Madden's on Gull Lake, in a news release.
Madden's on Gull Lake opens for the 2016 season on April 22. The family-owned and operated resort will kick off its 87th season with its annual opening party celebration April 22-24. Madden's will open 40 percent new following severe storms that impacted the Brainerd lakes area this past summer. The new construction will provide brand new guest accommodations, meeting/event space and more.
Madden's on Gull Lake is an award-winning resort located on more than 1,000 acres and 63 holes of world-class golf, lakeside spa, upscale dining, a wide variety of recreational offerings, activities for children. Madden's has 287 guest rooms, 42,000 square feet of meeting space and can comfortably accommodate more than 600 guests.
Madden's on Gull Lake was the sole recipient of Golf Digest's Green Star Award in 2010 for its exceptional green initiative program. Minnesota Meetings & Events Magazine listed Madden's as "Best Resort in Minnesota" in 2008, the "Best Resort with Meeting/Event Space" in 2011 and 2012, "Best Venue Outside the Metro" in 2012 and "Best Social Media Presence" in 2013 and 2014. In 2014, Conde Nast Traveler magazine listed Madden's on Gull Lake No. 53 on its list of "Best Resorts & Hotels in the World."
