THIEF RIVER FALLS - Arctic Cat, a recreational vehicle maker with production plants in Thief River Falls and St. Cloud, named Christopher Metz its president and CEO Friday.

Metz, 49, replaces Christopher Twomey, who will remain the company’s board chairman. Metz will join the company on Dec. 3.

Metz has worked as the managing director of Sun Capital Partners Inc., a private investment firm, since 2005. He was the president of Black & Decker for six years prior to that.

“I am excited to lead a terrific team at Arctic Cat,” Metz said in a press release.

Former Arctic Cat Chairman and CEO Claude Jordan stepped down earlier this year and was replaced by Twomey a couple weeks after releasing disappointing financial results.
