Last week, 36 students in grades 6-12 participated in Summer Engineering and Manufacturing Camp at the Central Lakes College Staples campus.
The one-week camp gives students a chance to experience hands-on electronics, motor controllers, computer-aided drafting, manufacturing machining and robotics automated systems.
During the week, students built "battlebots," all while gaining instruction in computer-aided drafting and robotics automated systems. To cap off the week, students competed in a battlebot competition, including an obstacle course, robot soccer and a battlebot demolition.
The camp is sponsored by the CLC Staples campus and the Center of Excellence of Bemidji State University.
