Brainerd Area Coalition for Peace will have a peace vigil beginning 6 p.m. Monday, July 1, at the intersection of North Sixth and Washington streets, Brainerd, near the Sawmill Inn.

Vigil participants will meet at the vigil site. Signs and flags are available for vigil participants.

The peace vigil will oppose a possible U.S. war against Venezuela or Iran, demand an end to U.S. threats and sanctions against Venezuela and Iran, and call for the full normalization of U.S. diplomatic and trade relations with Venezuela and Iran. The vigil supports the U.S. returning to the 2015 nuclear energy agreement with Iran the U.S. unilaterally withdrew from in 2018.

The vigil will demand the immediate withdrawal of all U.S. forces from the Middle East and Afghanistan, an end to U.S. drone assassinations, and the termination of U.S. support for Saudi Arabia's war against Yemen.

The Brainerd Area Coalition for Peace will have its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. shortly after the vigil ends and will meet in the Brainerd United Church of Christ (UCC) upstairs library, 415 Juniper Street, Brainerd, near Gregory Park.

The peace vigil and the BACP meeting are free events open to the public.
