The Brainerd Northside Neighborhood Association will host its monthly meeting 7-8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, via Zoom.

The guest speaker will be Dave Cox, deputy chief of the Brainerd Fire Department. Cox will provide information on fire safety and answer questions from participants.

The neighborhood association is a not-for-profit community-based organization encompassing all residents, businesses, nonprofits and faith communities residing within the north area of Brainerd. Its purpose is to provide a forum for the discussion of neighborhood and community issues; plan activities to build a sense of neighborhood; provide neighbors the opportunity to meet each other; plan neighborhood improvement programs to clean up and beautify the neighborhood; work alongside community resources of government, businesses, nonprofits and citizens to continue to improve the neighborhood and find solutions for issues; sponsor crime prevention programs and promote the history of the northside.

Monthly association meetings are on the third Wednesday of every month via Zoom, until future meetings can be hosted at The Center in Brainerd.

Elected board members include Krista Soukup, president; Kathleen Maloney Hermerding, vice president; Laurel Hall, secretary; Natalie Schiferl, treasurer; and board members Pam Stock and Lynda Everson.
