Bygone Brainerd Lakes is a weekly photo feature using photographs from the Brainerd Dispatch's publication archives.

The Brainerd Lakes Area has a rich history associated with railroads, farming, logging and mining. Visit often and view the latest precious image(s) we've unearthed from the archives.

Dozens of area residents loaned us their treasured photos of the past for use in a book we published in 1994, "Out of the Woods, A Pictorial History of The Brainerd Lakes Area", to share with you and we are pleased to be sharing them again - along with other photos from our vast archives - with a new, larger audience.
