Cuyuna Area Connections is presenting the virtual learning opportunity "Avoiding COVID-19 Scams and Fraud" noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9.
Any adult who has experienced, or knows someone who has experienced, stress and anxiety during the coronavirus pandemic is encouraged to attend the online event.
The Federal Trade Commission warns scammers will use fear during the pandemic to deceive consumers and steal their money or sensitive information.
Presentation topics include why the pandemic presents an opportunity for scammers, the most common types of scams they will engage in and how to protect oneself and loved ones.
