Pine River Summerfest comes to town Wednesday-Sunday, July 24-28, with a medallion hunt that kicked off festivities Monday, July 15.

The theme is Fun by the River.

Many popular attractions return, including the classic car and tractor show, Pine River American Legion steak fry, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Rhubarb Fest, a mobile zoo at Pine River State Bank and a magician by the dam.

The Pine River Art Club Show will be a free attraction Friday and Saturday, July 26-27, at The Warehouse.

Following is a schedule of events:

Wednesday, July 24

  • 6-8 p.m.: The Warehouse Community Block Party in front of The Warehouse Community Center.

Thursday, July 25

  • 11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Essentia Health Clinic Pharmacy ribbon cutting and open house.
  • Noon: Senior Day recognition.
  • 5 p.m. until done: Heritage Group North's “Lost Pine River” fundraiser at Bites Grill and Bar. A social will start at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. and the program at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30 per person.

Friday, July 26

  • 10 a.m.-6 p.m.: Pine River Library book sale.
  • All day: Merchant sidewalk sales and craft displays.
  • 9 a.m.-3 p.m.: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Rhubarb Fest at the Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
  • 1:45 p.m.: Pine River Duck Race registration at the Pine River Dam with races beginning at 2 p.m.
  • 2:30-5:30 p.m.: Pine River Growers and Crafters Market downtown.
  • 5 p.m.: Pine River American Legion steak fry and meat raffle fundraiser.

Saturday, July 27

  • All day: Arts and craft displays downtown.
  • All day: First Lutheran Church bake sale in front of Jim’s Barber Shop on Barclay Avenue.
  • All day: United Methodist Church “Walk’n Tacos” on the sidewalk.
  • All day: Pine River Fire Department’s Summerfest softball tournament at Shamp’s Field.
  • 8 a.m.: Registration for the Pine River Library and River Fitness 5K fun run and 2K walk. Call 218-587-4639 for information.
  • 8 a.m.-1 p.m.: Classic car and tractor show at Pine River State Bank.
  • 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m.: Chainsaw demonstration by Scott Beto on Main Street.
  • 9:30 a.m.: Crow Wing Kayaks at the dam with Army Corps of Engineers safety demonstrations.
  • 11 a.m. -1 p.m.: Minnesota Zoo-Mobile at Pine River State Bank.
  • 10 a.m.-5 p.m.: Pine River Public Library book sale at the library.
  • Noon and 3 p.m.: Brian Richards’ Magician Show below the dam.
  • 11 a.m.-3 p.m.: Music in the park at the dam park.
  • 11 a.m.: Food at Kater Park.
  • 9 a.m.-3 p.m.: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Rhubarb Fest at the Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
  • Noon-4 p.m.: Kids activities, inflatables, games, face painting at Kater Park.
  • 11 a.m.-2 p.m.: Free balloon man creations at Kater Park.
  • 11 a.m.-2 p.m.: First Lutheran Church pie and dessert in the park.
  • 12:30 p.m.: Pine River Summerfest parade lineup at the Cass County Fairgrounds. No fee.
  • 2 p.m.: “Fun by the River” Summerfest parade.

Sunday, July 28:

  • All day: Pine River Fire Department Summerfest Softball Tournament at Shamp’s Field.
  • 10 a.m.-2 p.m.: Pine River Public Library book sale at the library.
