The Center's Morning Club schedule

Kim Braun, Essential Oils, will be the presenter at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday for The Center's Morning Club.

Jerry Negen of Negen's Investigative Services, will be the presenter Aug. 30.

They have $1 coffee and doughnuts available and a presentation on interesting topics. Those interested in attending must be a member of The Center, 803 Kingwood St., Brainerd, to attend these.

Brainerd Legion upcoming events

The Post and Auxiliary membership meetings will be 7 p.m. Monday.

Northern Tin will be in the Cal White Room at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Brainerd Area Networking Group will meet noon Thursday.

Chicken dinner for $10 will be the special on Friday. Walleye is also available for $11.

Crow Wing County Genealogical Society to meet

The Crow Wing County Genealogical Society will host a research meeting Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Family History Center, 101 Buffalo Hills Lane, Brainerd.

Program: This meeting is for research and as a social gathering open to the public. Several members will be present to assist in research. Anyone interested in genealogy is welcome to attend.

Research and social hours will be from 6-8 p.m. A discussion and demonstrations of the following databases will begin 7 p.m.: Alien registrations, naturalization records after 1906, locating NP records and census mortality schedules.

WHS class of 1965 meeting set

The Washington High School class of 1965 will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Monday at Jake's on the Beach (the old Quarterdeck).

Class of 1973 to meet about 45th class reunion

The Brainerd High School class of 1973 will meet 6 p.m. Thursday at the Sawmill Inn in Brainerd.

This is an organizational meeting for the 45th class reunion to be in 2018. Bring ideas for a venue, and if possible, bring information and/or a proposal on the venue.

RSVP to Doug Zaske at 218-820-8688 so that Sawmill Inn can staff this to accommodate the class's meeting needs. For those planning on eating, let Doug know. Sawmill Inn does not charge for the room but they appreciate orders from the menu.

WHS class of 1957

The Washington High School class of 1957 will meet for a luncheon 11 a.m. Tuesday at Northwind Grille.

VFW annual picnic planned

The VFW annual picnic will be 1-3 p.m. Aug. 27 at St. Mathias Park.

This picnic is for VFW Post and Auxiliary members and their families.

The Club will furnish corn, hot dogs, burgers, plates, cups, utensils, coffee and water. Bring a dish to pass. There will be games and prizes.

Senior dances

Senior dances will be from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday at the Motley Ten-Hi with music by Michael James; and 12:30 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Pierz Oktoberfest in the Park with music by Marie and Boys and Henry, as well as the Social Security Express Band.
