Be ready to get Back to Hack Jan. 18-20

Back to Hack will liven up the Hackensack winter scene and will feature the return of many annual favorites, including a snow sculpture contest, Penguin Plunge and dart tournament.

Snow sculpting will begin early Sunday, Jan. 13. Medallion hunt clues will be released at 10 a.m. every day starting Thursday, Jan. 17.

Following is a schedule of events:

Friday, Jan. 18:

7 p.m.: Extreme bingo and DJ with prizes at the Birchwood Char House and Bar.

Saturday, Jan. 19:

10:45 a.m.: Fun run/walk registration at the Hackensack Visitor's Center.

Noon: Senior day recognition.

11 a.m.: Fun run/walk start time at the Lucette statue.

Noon: Hackensack American Legion Chili Feed.

Noon-3 p.m.: Ice fishing contest on Birch Lake.

Noon: Register for the Penguin Plunge at the Hackensack Visitor's Center.

Noon: Auxiliary bake sale at the American Legion.

Noon-4 p.m.: Silent auction at the American Legion.

Noon: Free winter carnival kids games at the city park.

1 p.m.: Penguin Plunge on Birch Lake benefiting Faith in Action and the Hackensack Area Fire and Rescue Department.

4-6 p.m.: Fish fry sponsored by the Hackensack Fire and Rescue at the fire hall.

5:30 p.m.: Community bonfire near the American Legion.

6 p.m.: Fireworks over Birch Lake.

Sunday, Jan. 20:

8:30-11:30 a.m.: Auxiliary breakfast at the Hackensack American Legion.

11:30 a.m.: Loaded Bloody Mary Bar at the Birchwood Char House & Bar.

12:30 p.m.: Raffle drawing, snow sculpture judging and Penguin Plunge winners announced at the Birchwood Char House & Bar.

2:30 p.m.: Dart tournament at the Birchwood Char House & Bar.
