Wadena Whirlaways Square Dancers to host dance

WADENA—The Wadena Whirlaways Square Dancers will host a dance Friday, Feb. 15, at the VFW in Wadena.

Larry Johansen is the caller. The theme is red and white and it will be the graduation dance for new members.

Plus dancing begins at 7:30 p.m. and mainstream dancing at 8 p.m.

VFW Post No. 1647 and Auxiliary will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Post home.

Hackensack American Legion Auxiliary to serve breakfast

HACKENSACK—Hackensack American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 202 will serve breakfast 8:30-11:30 a.m. Feb. 17 at the Club.

Menu includes choice of pancakes, bacon and eggs, or eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast. Both include juice and coffee for $6. The proceeds go to support youth scholarships.

Xi chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa to meet

The Xi chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa will meet 4:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Mary Suer's home.

The program is Bridges of Hope's "Side by Side" program with Amy Wyant as the featured speaker.

This is also the altruistic project for the month.

The Center's Morning Club meets Wednesdays

The Center's Morning Club meets 9:30 a.m. every Wednesday at The Center, 803 Kingwood St., Brainerd.

On Wednesday, Feb. 13, the speaker is Laine Larson, Superintendent of Brainerd School District No. 181. She will be sharing the plan and vision for the school district and where they are now.

Salvation Army Valentine's Day spaghetti dinner fundraiser set for Friday

The Salvation Army Valentine's Day spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be 6-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at The Salvation Army, 208 S. Fifth St., Brainerd.

The menu will be spaghetti with choice of sauce, side salad, garlic bread and homemade dessert.

There is a $5 donation. All proceeds will go to help support youths programs.

Brainerd Elks Lodge Polish sausage feed

The public is invited to an all-you-can eat Polish sausage, sauerkraut, beans and bread feed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the Brainerd Elks Lodge, 215 S. Ninth St., Brainerd.

Cost is $8.

The Washington High School Class of 1967 will gathering at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at Northwind Grille (back meeting room), 603 Laurel St., Brainerd.

Brainerd Eagles Club breakfast set for Sunday

The Brainerd Eagles Club breakfast will be 8:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, Feb. 10, at 124 Front St., Brainerd, featuring the Eagles' special for $8.

194th Regiment to meet

The 194th Regiment meeting will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at the Brainerd National Guard Armory.

Agenda will include the Bataan Memorial Service set for 10 a.m. April 9, the 2019 budget and progress report from the We Care Committee.

Pinetree Patchworkers Quilt Club meeting set for Monday

BAXTER—The Pinetree Patchworkers Quilt Club will meet 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at The Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 6190 Fairview Road, Baxter.

The program for this month is an all day sew-in at the church starting at 9:30 a.m. A soup and bars supper will be served prior to the 6:30 p.m. business meeting.

Brainerd Legion upcoming events

The Legion Riders will meet 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11.

The 40 et 8 will meet 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12.

The special dinner for Friday, Feb. 15, will be Bob Harting's barbecue ribs for $11.50. Walleye dinner is also available for $11.50. Serving begins at 5 p.m.

On Saturday, Feb. 16, the Legion will host a special Valentine's dinner. There will be two seatings: 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Choose from New York steak or chicken and shrimp kabobs. Vegetables, salad, bread sticks, strawberry cheesecake and a glass of wine are included with each dinner. Cost is $20.
