The 2012 documentary film "Chasing Ice" will be presented 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Brainerd Public Library's large conference room, 416 S. Fifth St.
In "Chasing Ice," nature photographer James Balog and the Extreme Ice Survey team document the decline of glaciers and ice sheets in Alaska, Greenland and Iceland. The decline in glaciers and ice sheets is caused by climate change. Balog and the EIS team use the images they capture of glacier and ice sheet decline to inform the public about the effects of climate change on the Arctic environment.
Jeff Orlowski directed "Chasing Ice." "Chasing Ice" won the 2014 News and Documentary Emmy Award for Outstanding Nature Programming.
A discussion will follow the film presentation. The film presentation and discussion is a free event open to the public.
The Chasing Ice film presentation and discussion is hosted by Brainerd Lakers United for the Environment and Brainerd High School Eco Club.
