Temps in the 40s and gusty winds didn't burden the Warrior baseball team. Kevin Ericson's 3-run homer that went 400-feet to center field was the telling blow in a 4-2 conference win over Rocori as Brainerd remained unbeaten.

The Brainerd Parks and Rec Dept. has finished cutting down and chipping more than a dozen trees on Laurel and 7th Streets because they were dead or planted too close together. They were part of an improvement project in 1976 and will be replaced with pines or shade trees.

Charging that county attorney Steve Rathke acted improperly before the grand jury, the attorney for Brainerd Police Officer Randy Bush asked to have all grand jury indictments against his client dismissed. Bush is charged with assaulting four arrested prisoners.

The search has ended for a 73-year-old man who wandered away from a local rest home three days ago. He was found hanging from a tree about four blocks south of the city dump. A coroner's inquest will be held. Police said the man left no note.
