Police officer Randy Bush rejected the city council's offer of two months back pay after his resignation, and raised a possible conspiracy between several council members and the county attorney in his recent prosecution. This prompted a heated exchange between council members Denny Martin and Mary Koep.

Purchase of Smokey Joe's Restaurant, 1/4-mile south of Nisswa, has been announced by Beryl Warden, owner of Lazy Brook Resort, located next door to the restaurant. The restaurant was owned by Joe Zulski, who will continue as the cook.

Police warn small boys to "lay off the artillery." They want boys to have fun but also want to protect property. With accurate fire from BB guns and slingshots, the boys have destroyed street lights and signs. A close watch will be made, and miscreants will be hauled into juvenile court.
