Sue Hilgart and Larry Wannebo of the Rosenmeier Center at CLC, met with county commissioners yesterday to raise the prospect of public broadcast of government meetings. They would include Brainerd, Baxter and Crosby city councils and the Brainerd school board.

A county court judge ordered authorities to seize $175,000 in property from country western entertainer Steve Hall and his wife Daisy in response to a lawsuit saying that Hall had defrauded his manager. Hall is known nationally as the creator and voice of puppet Shotgun Red.

Laverne Sally Hale was glued to her TV set last weekend. Why? Because the Missouri native was watching her nephew, Hale Irwin, win his second U.S. Open Golf title. "He's just total concentration," said Hale, who is spending the summer as golf pro at Ruttger's Bay lake Lodge.

The sale of fireworks will begin in Brainerd on June 26, said Police Chief Tom Templeton. To promote safety he warned boys and girls not to throw firecrackers at cars and to see that fuses are sufficiently long so as not to explode in their hands.

All Brainerd turned out to see the first four performances of Tom (Fat) Wood of Brainerd and Charlie Chaplin in "Sunnyside" at the Park Theatre. The 500-lb. Wood, who is a gifted singer, comedian, trap drummer and publicity man, is now making a second film with Chaplin.
