In its four previous games the Warrior football team drilled opponents by a combined 255-62. That was no fluke, as Brainerd put down Moorhead 33-21 to move to the Section 8AAAAA finals. Behind its massive line, Adam Hardy scored three TDs and Mike Weiss and Mike Zauhar each gained over 100 yards.

Sec. of State Joan Growe's decision to allow a supplemental ballot for governor has opened the door for other write-in candidates. First to step through was Jack Graham, asking to be put on the ballot for county attorney. The fact that Marlin Wickland was on the ballot and then withdrew, allows Graham to petition to be included.

Crow Wing County yesterday gave preliminary approval to a municipal revenue bonding project for a resort, believed to be the first of its kind in the state. Ruttger's Bay Lake Lodge received an OK for $660,000 in bonds to construct rooms and remodel the kitchen. The county has no financial burden in the project.

Under instructions from the headquarters of the NP Railway, all workers are requested to cast their votes on the morning of Election Day, Nov. 2. Instead of arriving at the shops at 7 a.m., workers are to go directly to their polling places. After voting they will report to work and will be paid for their time while voting.
