Two people are in custody and $10,000 in marijuana-growing equipment was seized in a drug bust in Unorganized Territory. Officers executing the warrant at a home on White Gables Trail said a room had been turned into a greenhouse. A man and woman, both age 26, are in jail. Fifty marijuana plants were seized.

30 years ago (1991)

Warrior Athletes of the Week is the No. 1 tennis doubles team of Jenny Johnson and Misty Larson, who've played together three years. They won the South Subsection 8AA tournament, beating fellow teammates Shelly Breen and Jeanne Jones to do it. In the Section tournament they finished third, and sported a season record of 23-6.

In honor of its 17th birthday, the H.F. Michael Co. has placed a mammoth birthday cake in its front window. The cake is 30 inches wide, 60 inches long and 18 inches high. On the final day of their sale, Oct. 29, they will give a piece of cake to every woman visiting the store. One piece will have a metal disc good for a cash prize.
