Holiday music filled the air in downtown Brainerd as shoppers visited local stores and gazed at brightly lit window displays Friday evening, Dec. 4, during the second annual Hometown Holidays Window Walk.
Santa waved to passersby from the window of CatTales Books & Gifts, while the Grinch greeted those walking by Visit Brainerd. Two cats snoozed in the window of The Olde Open Window next to a sign reading “Yes, the cats are real,” drawing surprise from shoppers.

Customers visited Coco Moon Coffee Bar & Gifts, grabbing a hot drink before hitting the shops.

Put on by Destination Downtown Brainerd Coalition, the Window Walk aimed to offer a relaxing, joyful evening for residents and boost support of local businesses.

Thirty businesses participated in the event, and residents can vote for their favorite window on the Destination Downtown Brainerd Facebook page. Displays will remain up through Christmas.
