Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union leadership changes

As a new decade begins Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union (MMFCU) is pleased to announce the reorganization of its leadership team for continued success into the future.

Expanding their leadership role in the Executive Management Team are Chris Tangen, Daryl Doucette, Karen Munsterteiger, and Missy Borg. Joining the Senior Management Team are Joe Reed, Karly Lillo and Miranda Anderson.

MMFCU has been serving member owners for 64 years with a focus on returning profits to members in the form of lower interest rates, higher dividends, additional technology, and growth in services. President/CEO Chuck Albrecht explains, “This new structure will enable us to allocate resources and our expert team members as the economy and our communities grow and change, so we can continue to meet our mission of providing member owners resources to improve their financial well-being.”

Chris Tangen who has been leading the rapid growth of technology for the past 13 years at MMFCU was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. His training and certifications give him the unique skill set to not only manage systems but the people who run them and benefit from them. He is excited to continue to advocate for member owners and their financial well-being.

Named as Chief Administrative Officer is Daryl Doucette, in this expanded role he will lead the attraction, engagement and retention of members and expert staff alike. In the past three years since joining the credit union, he has helped create the first state-wide Credit Union Employee Benefits Plan. He also gives back locally serving on the board of directors for Lakes Area Human Resources Association and Lakes Area United Way as well as the Workforce Wellness co-chair for Crow Wing Energized.

Karen Munsterteiger was promoted to Chief Financial Officer. With more than three decades of experience, Karen leads the strategic direction and administration of the credit union’s asset/liability management, risk assessment, financial analysis, and investment services. She is also a leader in the community serving a variety roles including past president of the Brainerd Area Noon Sertoma and chair of the Brainerd Lakes Women’s Fund.

Having served member owners for the past 25 years at Mid Minnesota, Missy Borg assumed the role of Chief Operations Officer. Her personal career path of working as a teller, member services and management informs the decisions she makes as a senior leader when implementing processes, products and services to best serve member owners. Missy also attained Certified Credit Union Executive level with the Credit Union National Association and is a member of the Brainerd Lions Club.

Joining the Senior Management Team that includes Jonathan LeMieur and Jill Carlson at Mid Minnesota is Joe Reed who was recently promoted to Vice President of Business Services. Joe has served business members at Mid Minnesota for the past eight years and leads a team of business lending experts across central Minnesota. He loves coming to work each day always knowing MMFCU has the members best interest in mind at all times. Mid Minnesota also recognized Karly Lillo, naming her Vice President of Technology Services. Karly leads the team who ensures that the online and 24/7 services that member owners rely on are working well and keeping pace with the expansion of technology. Her expertise has been honed over the past 15 years at MMFCU as well as serving as a state-wide leader for a software user group throughout Minnesota. Joining Mid Minnesota in October is Vice President of Marketing & Communications Miranda Anderson. Miranda brought two decades of experience marketing for service related industries to this role and is excited to be returning to MMFCU. Miranda has a marketing degree from Bemidji State University and is a graduate of the Blandin and Brainerd Lakes Chamber leadership programs.

MMFCU Board of Directors and staff ended 2019 thanking Chief Operations Officer Mary Pedersen for three decades of service and many professional milestones as she semi-retires in 2020 transitioning into a part-time role as the Compliance Manager.
