Lakes Area Writers Alliance’s January meeting is 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, via Zoom. Writers of every genre are invited to join. Carissa Andrews, a best-selling Indie author, will be discussing character development — why it’s important and how to create characters readers will love. The Zoom link to this meeting can be found on the group’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/lawamn/.

The group is also holding its membership drive this month. Those interested in joining can find more information at www.brainerdwriters.com. Writers of all genres and experience levels are encouraged to join. The alliance is for those seeking educational activities, ongoing author support, networking opportunities and a welcoming, inclusive community.

Lakes Area Writers Alliance is a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization made up of writers in the Brainerd lakes area, and is a place for writers to become re-energized in a safe group setting with people dedicated to their writing, organizers said in a news release.
