Artist Josh Porter of Avalon Studios sands down parts of the Paul Bunyan statue Monday, Sept. 23, at the Brainerd Welcome Center on Highway 371. The statue, originally built by Porter, was showing signs of wear and fading so the statue is getting some new primer, paint and clear coat to keep Paul looking his best for visitors.
