The Brainerd Police Department and Brainerd Ace Hardware are looking to spread some holiday cheer to four lucky children this Christmas.

The Brainerd Police Department will be giving away four bicycles and helmets the week of Dec. 20 to winners of the department’s 2021 coloring contest.

The bicycles and helmets were donated by Brainerd Ace Hardware. The police department picked them up Tuesday, Nov. 24.

Contest pages can be printed from the Brainerd Police Department’s Facebook page or picked up at the police department or Ace Hardware in Brainerd.

The contest was the idea of Brainerd Police Lt. Mike Kulzer, who had mentioned it to Pam Vogt, assistant manager of Brainerd Ace Hardware.

“I made a comment in passing to Pam (Vogt) and she ran with it,” Kulzer said. “We were hoping for one bike and she was able to get four, truly above and beyond anything we thought would happen.”

Recommended ages are 3-12 years old. All contest entries must be returned to the Brainerd Police Department no later than Dec. 20.
