St. Mathias Township book exchange library closing for the season

The book exchange library in St. Mathias Township will be closing for the season. The last day open will be Thursday, Oct. 28, as long as the weather stays mild.

Thousands of books, many puzzles, games, DVDs and CDs are still available to take home for the winter months. The book exchange will open again about the middle of May.

Hours are 3-6 p.m. Tuesdays, 2-5 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays. The location of the library is 7015 County Road 2, Fort Ripley.

Many genres of books are available from fiction, biography, westerns, history, cooking, crafts, children and young adults. There are hardcovers and softcovers and series by familiar authors.

Everything is for the taking, no exchange is necessary but book donations are accepted.

“The purpose is to keep America reading by conveniently making available the materials at no cost,” library organizers said in a news release. “And with the social distancing policy asked of all, books are a great entertainment. There is plenty of room for browsing.”
