Baseball practice started March 18 for every Warrior except J.P. Platisha. He was finishing his USHL season with the Topeka hockey team. He got in three days of practice before entering yesterday's game in the top of the fourth. He proved he doesn't need a lot of practice by hitting the first pitch for a three-run homer.

Environmental studies have narrowed the Brainerd bypass question to one of three alternatives: build on Option 1, Option 2, or forget the whole thing. Both of the two building options require the same amount of land and cost virtually the same. After a public hearing, the MnDOT commissioner will decide.

Duluth and Superior police are mystified as to what happened to Brainerd clothing merchant Edward Levant, who was found shot at 10:15 a.m. near the water's edge in Duluth and later died. He was last seen talking to a friend in front of a Superior drug store at 8:15 a.m. Police have no idea what happened in those two hours.
