Gary Roach can hardly be compared to the character in Hemingway's “The Old Man and the Sea,” except that he's the old man of the Professional Walleye Trail at age 54. Unlike Hemingway's character, Roach brought home the fish and was named “Angler of the Year.”

(Photo) This old log house was opened for the first time at the county fair yesterday and was besieged with visitors. The building has been furnished in authentic fashion and is being manned by Mrs. Neil Spencer of the Crow Wing County Historical Society.
