For now, it's up to speedy motorists to decide how safe the intersection on Highway 371 near the Target store will be. MnDOT has put up speed advisory signs showing 45 mph. But that's all they are - advisory. The speed limit remains at 55 mph.

A Silver Star Medal has been awarded to a Brainerd soldier who launched a one-man grenade and rifle charge that routed a large number of Red Chinese troops in Korea. Sgt. 1st Class George Frenne is the son of Mrs. Anna Frenne, N Street NE in Brainerd.
