(Photo) One of the 584 entrants in the 5th Annual Quarter Mile Time Trials crosses the finish line at Pleasant Acres Resort on Gull Lake. The grand prize winner was Marv Jorgenson of Choppers City, who reached a speed of 128 miles per hour.

One thousand Brainerd men, employees of the Northern Pacific shops, prepared to resume work tomorrow morning. They had been without work since December 17. They will build the final 600 cars of the 1,000 car order placed last year.

Col. Freeman Thorp, noted portrait artist, arrived from Hubert this noon on his way to Duluth, where he will paint a portrait of John Uno Sebenius, the mining engineer. From there the colonel may go to Oklahoma or Washington, D.C.
