Still feeling the pinch of a state “tax shift,” the Brainerd School Board again went to the bank last night, voting to sell $2,345,000 in general obligation tax anticipation certificates. The money will be used to cover district operating expenses.

St. Cloud Tech’s girls’ gymnastics team handed Brainerd its fourth loss of the season here 59.90 to 49.80. Highest Brainerd finish was Linda Giese, second on vault, with a 4.8. The Warrior girls, in their first year of competition, have a 1-4 mark thus far.

Annual meeting of the Crow Wing County Historical Society was held in the court house recreation rooms. Officers elected were: John Stensrud, pres.; P.B. Rhodes, VP; Mrs. Tom Crowley, secy.; and Miss Evelyn Mraz, treasurer.

Back from an eastern selling trip, which he said was one of the most successful since the Hickerson Garment Factory was founded, S.H. Hickerson, president, said volume could be 25 percent more than 1933. Remodeling of the plant is almost completed.

Brainerd’s basketball team won from Sauk Centre last night, the score being 32 to 26. George Day said the floor was very slippery and quite a few Brainerd men, unaccustomed to such a floor, frequently fell on their faces.
