Crow Wing County employees voted 35-22 to join the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. The vote means that, with few exceptions, virtually all county employees are now represented by a union.

Some 250 Army Reservists in training at Camp Ripley are in a state of quarantine today after discovery that one soldier has come down with hepatitis. The soldier, from Ft. Snelling, became ill in the food line and was rushed to the Little Falls hospital where he was diagnosed.

Apprehension of two 15-year-old boys near Brainerd has cleared up five auto thefts since April 6. Two of the cars were wrecked and three were abandoned in ditches. The boys had driven a late-model car through a newly planted oats field and were chased by the farmer.

A disputed play, which caused the end of a baseball game recently between Pequot and Nisswa of the Crow Wing County League, was submitted to George Barton, sports editor of the Minneapolis Tribune, for a decision. The letter to Barton, explaining the play, was drafted by the two managers.

Miss Irene Stanfeldt, who intended leaving for Louisville, Kentucky, yesterday afternoon, missed the train by four seconds. Today she was at the depot on time, but the perverse train was four hours late.
