The suspect in an assault at the Pussy Willows bar parking lot has been charged with assault for stabbing a Pequot Lakes man in the abdomen. He fled on a motorcycle with a woman. When arrested, he had a hunting knife and she had a switchblade and a stolen handgun.

The Minn. Dept. of Transportation received a written reprimand from the Minn. Pollution Control Agency for dumping highly toxic herbicide near the city well in Baxter last year. Gary Payne, leader of a group opposed to herbicides, saw this vindicating his efforts.

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Paulson of Brainerd, who have over 100 living descendants, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Willis Haugene. Over 200 relatives and friends were present for the occasion.

Using tools secured from the manual arts department and boiler room of Washington High School, thieves tunneled through a 12-inch wall into the vault and then battered open a small safe. The loot was estimated at less than $75.

The new presidential and state sample ballots have arrived at the office of County Auditor J. F. Smart. The ballot is exactly three feet nine inches in length and will require considerable study to mark properly.
