The new year will bring a new team member and office location for Visit Brainerd.
Holly Holm will join the Visit Brainerd team in the role of destination services specialist. She comes to Visit Brainerd with more than 10 years of tourism and nonprofit experience. Holm will be responsible for building partnerships with tourism and hospitality businesses in Baxter and Brainerd, promoting area events and attractions, and managing the organization's visitors information resources.
"We are really excited to add this position to Visit Brainerd," stated Mary Devine Johnson, executive director, in a news release. "It's going to provide many opportunities for us to showcase the tourism and hospitality industry, which is an important part of the local economy. Holly brings a lot of experience and a wide network to the table and we couldn't be more thrilled that she's coming on board.”
Also noteworthy, Visit Brainerd will relocate to 706 Laurel St. in downtown Brainerd. For the last eight years the organization has had an office in the lower level of BlackRidge Bank on Washington Street and Baxter Drive. The new location will provide opportunities for Visit Brainerd to better serve people looking for local tourism and hospitality information, easier access to the staff members, and increasing the profile of the organization in the community, the release stated.
"Visit Brainerd was established in 1995 so 2020 marks our 25th anniversary. We do great work promoting Baxter and Brainerd as a destination through advertising and marketing but many people still don't know exactly who we are or what we do. This location will help us increase our visibility," said Johnson. "We are also excited to be more accessible to visitors and locals alike. You'd be surprised how many people find us in the lower level of the bank in search of visitor information, so we're optimistic this location will provide easier access for anyone interested in Visit Brainerd.”
