American Association of University Women will meet via Zoom at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 12, to discuss the book “The Night Watchman” by Louise Erdrich.

The Brainerd Eagles Club will serve breakfast 8:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, April 11, at 124 Front St., Brainerd, featuring the Eagles’ special for $8.

The Lakes Prostate Cancer Fund support group to meet April 13

The Lakes Prostate Cancer Fund support group will meet 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, at the Legacy Golf Club Clubhouse.

The Lakes Prostate Cancer Fund is a part of Essentia Health and the mission is to improve public awareness of prostate cancer, provide non-medical funding for current prostate cancer patients and provide support group services. The support group is open to all and sanitation

precautions will be followed.

Disabled American Veterans meeting set

The monthly meeting for the Disabled American Veterans, Crow Wing County Chapter No. 22 will be 7 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at the Brainerd VFW Club.

The face covering and social distancing rules for the COVID-19 pandemic will be observed.

Chapter 22 officers meeting will begin at 6 p.m.

Nisswa Women’s Club to meet Thursday

The Nisswa Women’s Club will meet 11 a.m. Thursday, April 15, via Zoom.

The program this month is “Hunger and Solutions in our Area.”

Shawn Hanson, executive director of the Outreach Program of Brainerd Lakes, is the guest speaker. She will be talking about the program and what effects the pandemic has had on funding and food distribution programs in the Brainerd lakes area.

Becky Stover will present the inspiration, and Karen DeVries, president, will lead a short meeting.

Donations will be encouraged for the food shelf, one of the philanthropies that the club supports. During the pandemic last year, members raised $3,380 for the food shelf.
