Washington High School Class of 1967 to meet
The Washington High School class of 1967 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at The Local 218, 723 Mill Ave., Brainerd.
Eagles’ breakfast set for Sunday
Breakfast will be served from 8:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, Dec. 12, at 124 Front St., Brainerd,
featuring the Eagles’ special for $9.

Disabled American Veterans to meet Dec. 16
The monthly meeting for the Disabled American Veterans, Crow Wing County Chapter No. 22 will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at the Brainerd VFW club. The Chapter 22 officers meeting will begin at 6 p.m.

Nisswa Women’s Club celebrates 101 years
The Nisswa Women’s Club has much to celebrate at its Dec. 16 luncheon at Cragun’s Legacy. Completing its 101st year of fellowship and service, the theme this month is “Gifts from the Heart.”
Members and guests will enjoy a video produced by Gary Harris, husband of member Sharon Harris. Gary spent several months putting together photos and video interviews of members and club activities in honor of the centennial celebration. In addition, the First Draft Divas will share the Eight Levels of Gift Giving as prescribed by the Torah, and Lois Jensen will entertain us with some holiday music. We will also be collecting donations for the CLC Pantry.
President Karen DeVries will lead a short meeting and install officers for 2022. Social hour is at 11:30 a.m. and lunch is at noon. The lunch charge is $20.

Pinetree Patchworkers Quilt Club meeting planned for Monday
BAXTER — The Pinetree Patchworkers Quilt Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 6190 Fairview Road, Baxter.
After a very short business meeting, the group will have a Christmas sweater contest — ugly, contemporary, traditional — along with the annual Christmas party.
Masks are required on the church premises.
Brain Buster Trivia Challenge planned in January
The Brainerd Lakes Area American Association of University Women is hosting the 14th annual Brain Buster Trivia Challenge Jan. 15, 2022, at First Lutheran Church, 424 S. Eighth St., Brainerd.
The Brain Buster is a team event for two to six participants. Brain Buster is a fundraiser for AAUW scholarships to Central Lakes College. Teams pay a fee to participate. Go to www.brainbustertrivia.org to register. The complete team roster can be noted on the day of the event.
Teams should plan to arrive at 1:30 p.m. The first round of questions begins at 2 p.m. Teams are encouraged to have a team name and costumes. The focus on the event is on fun, food and fundraising. Prizes are awarded for costumes, team names and trivia placement in the contest.
Participants are encouraged to be COVID vaccinated individuals who are willing to wear a mask during the 2022 Brain Buster event.
Sons of Norway to meet
The Sons of Norway Sagatun Lodge of Brainerd will meet 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd.
There will be the traditional Christmas potluck beginning at 6 p.m. in Fellowship Hall followed by a Christmas program in the sanctuary with a variety of Christmas music and readings.
Brainerd VFW to meet
The Brainerd Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 309 S. Sixth St., Brainerd.
