The Big Event on Feb. 8 is in support of current and future students of the Brainerd Public Schools, through the Brainerd Public Schools Foundation. The Foundation supplements the school district in the 4As of Arts, Academics, Athletics and Activities. Miss Minnesota Rebecca Yeh, of Brainerd, and KSTP/St. Paul television anchor, Jessica Miles are featured guests. There will be a plated dinner, silent auction and live auction. Tickets are $50 each. to meet

The Center Morning Club meets each Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A speaker program is scheduled each week on various subjects of interest to the community. The club also participates in the “Books in a Bag” program sponsored by the public library. All members of the Center, men and women, are invited to become part of the group. Coffee and doughnuts are provided.

The speaker programs scheduled for February are: Feb. 5, Lee Anderson, Tenting in the Arctic; Feb. 12, Ron Stolski, Brainerd High School football coach; Feb. 19, Captain Strissel, Salvation Army, Christmas; Feb. 26, Mark Ritchie, Executive Director, Timber Bay Camp.
