Commander Chris’ all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast will be 8 a.m. to noon Jan. 27 at the Legion. Cost: adults, $7; kids, $4.
Steak date night special by Katie Lutz will be Friday starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Legion. Cost: $11 or two for $20.
■ Ray’s Promenaders
Ray’s Promenaders will be sponsoring a square dance Friday at Baxter Elementary School. Myron Hollatz will be calling Plus at 7:30 p.m. and Mainstream at 8 p.m. Winona and Richard Dosh will be hosting. The theme is chocolate night.
■ Alpha Chapter
No. 23 OES
Alpha Chapter No. 23 OES will meet at 6 p.m. Monday for a potluck at the Masonic Hall. The regular meeting will be at 7 p.m. Sweatshirts and slippers will be the attire for the evening.
■ Super Sunday party
BACKUS - The Backus American Legion will host its annual Super Sunday party beginning at 5 p.m. Feb. 3.
The event will include complimentary door and trivia game prizes, potluck food, a meat raffle and beverage specials. Those attending are asked to bring a potluck main dish, hors d’oeuvres or dessert but it is not required. The Legion is also accepting donations for the Pine River and Hackensack area food shelves at the event.

AITKIN - The Lois Club luncheon will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the 40 Club, west of Aitkin.

■ Brainerd Area Coalition for Peace to meet
Brainerd Area Coalition for Peace (BACP) will hold its first meeting of the year on Feb. 4. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the United Church of Christ (UCC) upstairs library. The UCC is located at 415 Juniper St., near the southwest corner of Gregory Park.
The meeting will be an informal discussion of peace, civil liberties and economic justice issues and plans for BACP activities in 2013.
Everyone is welcome to attend BACP meetings. There are no oaths, membership dues or officers in BACP.
