Jesse Baker Memorial Fundraiser set

The Burn, 7822 Fairview Road, Baxter, and Mainstreet Nutrition, 209 West Main St., Crosby, will host the Jesse Baker Memorial Fundraiser 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 8.

All profits and proceeds will be going directly to Central Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge. Full menu shakes and teas will be available or try Jesse’s specials: Jesse’s Buff-Stuffed Oreo Shake and Jesse’s Tutti Frutti Tea.

Baker was a graduate of Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge who passed away unexpectedly on April 27, 2020.

Captain Robert Orr Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution to meet

The Captain Robert Orr Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will meet 10 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at the Gull Lake Recreational Area at the shelter on the top of the hill, 10867 East Gull Lake Road, Brainerd.

The student essay winners have been invited to read their essays. Chapter Regent Carol Curby is the hostess.

CJ Chapter of PEO will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 4.

Brainerd Elks Lodge breakfast planned

Brainerd Elks Lodge No. 615, 215 S. Ninth Street, Brainerd, will have a community breakfast 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, May 2.

Order from a menu that includes eggs, sausage or bacon, pancakes, omelets and hash browns plus Doug Johnson’s caramel rolls.

Lakes Prostate Cancer Fund support group meeting set

Lakes Prostate Cancer Fund Support Group will meet 10 a.m. May 18 at the Legacy Golf Club Clubhouse.

Garage sale to benefit Wild and Free Wildlife Rehabilitation

GARRISON — A garage sale to benefit Wild and Free Wildlife Rehabilitation will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 12-14 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 15 at the Garrison VFW Pavilion and Grounds.

All proceeds go directly to Wild and Free Rehabilitation.

Senior dances

Senior dances will be noon to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at the Deerwood Legion with music by Two for the Road; and 1-4 p.m. May 12 at the Waukenabo Town Hall with music by Two for the Road.

Backus Legion Auxiliary Mother’s Day breakfast set for May 9

BACKUS — The Backus American Legion Auxiliary will be giving away free plants to mothers attending its monthly breakfast on Mother’s Day planned for 7:30-11:30 a.m. Sunday, May 9, at the clubrooms, highways 371 and 87 W.

The breakfast includes fried or scrambled eggs, pancakes or French toast, sausage and bacon, juice, water and coffee for $8 a plate and $4 for children under 7.

Proceeds go to community, education and veterans programs, active duty military holiday gifts, and other auxiliary projects.
