Nisswa American Legion Children’s Christmas party
NISSWA - The Nisswa American Legion will have its Children’s Christmas Party on from 1-3 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Post. All children through age 12 are invited to attend. There will be games to play, children can visit with Santa and a treat will be served.

Commander Chris’ pancake breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Legion. Cost: $7 for adults and $4 for kids.
A prime rib dinner by Teddy Anderson will be served at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Legion. Cost: $13.
Steak date night by Katie will be served from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday. Cost is $11 or two for $20.
Season of Lights lighting ceremonies planned
STAPLES - The Lakewood Health System Foundation and the Lakewood Hospice and Palliative Care programs would like to invite everyone to their 17th annual Season of Lights lighting ceremonies.
The Season of Lights is an opportunity to sponsor an illuminated tree light to remember and celebrate special individuals and loved ones. White lights are $10, amber lights are $15, blue lights are $20, red lights are $25, and star lights are $50. A name can be placed on the Giving Wall for a $500 donation. Donations will be accepted anytime. All donations will go toward the Hospice room family care packages at the Lakewood Health System Care Center.
The lighting ceremony will take place at two different locations. The first will be held 7 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Long Prairie Memorial Hospital and Home Chapel. The second ceremony will be 6 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Lakewood Health System Care Center.
The Season of Lights is sponsored by the Lakewood Health System Foundation, as well as the Hospice and Palliative Care programs which dedicate themselves to improving the quality of life by providing resources, care and understanding for people with terminal illnesses, their caregivers and families. The mission of the Lakewood Health System Foundation is to provide the opportunity to preserve and enhance health and wellness for the communities it serves by encouraging the support of the Foundation through charitable gifts.

AAUW to meet
AAUW will meet Dec. 1 at Edgewood Vista promptly at 10:30 a.m. Program will feature the three scholarship recipients and will also include an exhibition in belly dancing. Remember to bring unwrapped gifts for the Women’s Center.
