Brainerd Elks Lodge breakfast set for Oct. 3

Brainerd Elks Lodge No. 615, 215 S. Ninth St., Brainerd, will serve breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, Oct. 3.

Order from a menu that includes eggs, sausage or bacon, pancakes, omelets and hash browns plus Doug Johnson’s caramel rolls. All proceeds support Elks youths and veteran programs. Call the club at 218-829-2643 or 218-829-1187 for takeout orders.

Senior dance

A senior dance will be 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at the Eagles Club with music by LeRoy and Joe.

American Association of University Women to meet Oct. 11

The American Association of University Women will meet at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 11 to discuss the book, "An Indigenous Peoples' History of North America” by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz.

Backus Legion Auxiliary October breakfast planned

BACKUS — The Backus American Legion Auxiliary will be serving its monthly breakfast from 7:30-11:30 a.m. Oct. 10.

It includes fried or scrambled eggs, pancakes or French toast, sausage and bacon, juice, water and coffee for $10 a plate and $5 for children under 7.

Proceeds go to community, education and veterans programs, active duty military holiday gifts, and other auxiliary charitable projects.
