The Washington High School Class of 1958 will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Front Street Cafe.

Nisswa Garden Club to meet Thursday

NISSWA — Nisswa Garden Club will meet Thursday, Oct. 28, at the Nisswa Community Center. The public is welcome to attend the hot buffet lunch at noon (Cost is $16; RSVP by Sunday, Oct. 24, by calling Barb at 218-330-6661), or attend the 1 p.m. program, “Jam and Jelly Maker’s Garden” presented by JoAnn Weaver.

Deer hunters’ dinner set

HACKENSACK — The Hackensack American Legion Post will host a deer hunters’ dinner beginning at 5 p.m. Nov. 5.


Dinner will be a hot beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, vegetable, milk or coffee and a free slice of homemade pie. Cost for adults is $10.

Crosslake Area Garden Club meeting announced

CROSSLAKE — Crosslake Area Garden Club meets the third Wednesday of the month at 1 p.m. in the meeting room at the Crosslake Community Center.

On Nov. 17, Kristi Roedl will be presenting “Shore Land Restoration.”

November and through Dec. 15, there will be a tree in the Community Center lobby to collect hats, mittens and scarves for the Crosslake Community School Children Holiday Giving.

Parkinson’s Disease Support Group Meeting set

BAXTER — The Brainerd Lakes Area Parkinson’s Disease Support Group will meet at 1 p.m. Nov. 11 (note date change) at Lord of Life Church, 6190 Fairview Road, Baxter.

There will be a presentation by the American Parkinson’s Disease Association on cognitive issues. Call 218-829-4017 if you have questions. Masks are required at the church.

Legion family membership dinner planned

The Brainerd American Legion will have its annual Legion family membership dinner Monday, Oct. 25. Social hour is at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m.

Dinner is free for paid up Post, Auxiliary, Color Guard and Legion Rider members and $10 for non-member guests or spouses. There will be guest speakers from the Sixth District and Department and the veterans gift shop will be accepting donations.

Alpha Chapter No. 23 OES will meet 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25.

Costumes are optional. Bring a snack to share.
