BAXTER — Widowed Friends will meet 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13, at Pizza Ranch in Baxter.

Eagles Club to serve breakfast

The Eagles Club will serve breakfast 8:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, Sept. 12, at 124 Front St., Brainerd, featuring the Eagles’ special for $9. Ala carte menu also available.

Hackensack American Legion Auxiliary Unit 202 to serve breakfast Sept. 19

HACKENSACK — Hackensack American Legion Auxiliary Unit 202 will serve breakfast from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, at the Club.


Menu includes a choice of biscuits and gravy with eggs or French toast with eggs and bacon. Both include juice and coffee for $7. The proceeds go to support youths scholarships.

Pinetree Patchworkers Quilt Club meeting planned for Monday

BAXTER — The Pinetree Patchworkers Quilt Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 6190 Fairview Road, Baxter.

Guest speaker will be Shellie Reeci, a finalist in all six of the Cherrywood Challenges. A business meeting will follow.

Brainerd American Legion Auxiliary to have special meat raffle

The Brainerd American Legion Auxiliary will have a special meat raffle at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at the Legion.

Proceeds raised by this meat raffle will go to Bridges of Hope.

Washington High School class of 1967 to meet Sept. 17

The Washington High School class of 1967 will meet 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at the "On The Rocks" restaurant in Grand View Lodge, 23521 Nokomis Ave., Nisswa.

Disabled American Veterans meeting planned for Sept. 16

The monthly meeting for the Disabled American Veterans Crow Wing County Chapter No. 22 will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at the Brainerd VFW club.

The Chapter 22 officers meeting will begin at 6 p.m.


Nisswa Women’s Club to meet at Drummond Winery

The Nisswa Women’s Club will meet 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at Drummond Winery.

Ron Miles, a local naturalist and historian, will share the history of the Ox Cart Trails which were an important part of the early transportation system between St. Paul and the Red River Valley. Goods and passengers were hauled by ox cart along the Mississippi, through the Pillager Gap, and northwest through the Red River Valley.

Candy Barnack is leading the inspiration, and Karen DeVries will preside over the annual meeting and election of officers. Drummond Winery is serving lunch. The luncheon charge is $20. The wait staff at the Winery will not be masked, so we strongly advise that only vaccinated guests attend this luncheon, and that they wear a mask, removing it only while eating.

Sons of Norway to meet

The Sons of Norway Sagatun Lodge of Brainerd will meet 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd.

A potluck meal will be served with a short program to follow.

Senior dances

Senior dances will be 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the Eagles Club in Brainerd with music by LeRoy and Marie; and 1-4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at the Deerwood Legion with music by Frank and Fran.

Nisswa Garden Club meeting planned for Sept. 23

NISSWA — Nisswa Garden Club will meet 1 p.m. Sept. 23, at the Nisswa Community Center.

The program is open to the public and free.

The program will be Culinary Herbs: Garden to Kitchen. Presenters will be Dorothy Johnson, JoAnn Weaver and Marcy MacAulay.

For those looking for a weight loss support group can consider TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) MN No. 1449, Brainerd.

Sunday dance planned at the Backus Legion

Frankie Lamb’s Frankly Country Band, performing classic country, pop, old time and swing, will play at the Backus Legion’s monthly Sunday dance from 2-5 p.m. Sept. 19.
