Auditions set

Play writing workshop

The Central Lakes Community Performing Arts Center will host a play writing workshop for students in fifth through ninth grades taught by Mary Aalgaard, local writer whose blog "Play off the Page." Classes will run every Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. from Jan. 24-April 4 in Room E319 at Central Lakes College in Brainerd. Classes will not meet March 14. The course fee is $55 and is non-refundable. Cuyuna Brewery Company in Crosby is hosting its "Happy Hour" fundraising event from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, to support the Wild and Free Wildlife Rehabilitation Organization in Garrison.
