Library hosts Happy Dancing Turtle
Children ages 7-12 years old are invited to join the Brainerd Public Library and Happy Dancing Turtle in a celebration of Earth Day at 4 p.m. Monday, April 22, at the Brainerd Public Library.
This STEAM—science, technology, engineering, art and math—program is free, but registration is required by calling the library at 218-829-5574.
On Earth Day, children will have the opportunity to learn about the different places on earth where water is found, travel through the water cycle as a drop of water and get a glimpse of what it's like for the millions of people who have to walk to a water source each day and carry their days' worth of water back home with them.
Happy Dancing Turtle, a nonprofit based in Pine River, has the mission to build, demonstrate and promote sustainable living solutions that are economically and ecologically practical. One way they do this is through youth education.
This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Brainerd Public Library through their volunteer and fundraising efforts, and is free of charge to the public.
