Cultural Thursday presents its next event at noon Thursday, Oct. 7, at Central Lakes College. The program will be about the people of the U.S. and Mexico borderlands. The presentation will be delivered live through Zoom and people may watch the program in the Chalberg Theatre on the Brainerd campus or watch remotely. Heartland Poets to meet

Heartland Poets, an area chapter of the League of Minnesota Poets, will meet 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 9 for its regular monthly meeting in the large room of the Brainerd Public Library.

The Lakes Area Writers Alliance presents its 2021 annual conference set Oct. 30 at the Northland Arboretum in Brainerd. The conference is titled “Book Writing Master Class: Become a Better Writer in One Day.”
