FORT RIPLEY — The book exchange library in St. Mathias Township will open for the season Tuesday, May 18.
Many books, puzzles, games, DVDs and CDs are available to take home and enjoy. The book exchange will be open 3-6 p.m. Tuesdays and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays until the end of October, when it closes for the winter. The book exchange is at 7015 Crow Wing County Highway 2, Fort Ripley.
Many genres of books are available including fiction, biography, westerns, history, cooking, crafts, children and young adult and better living for everyone. There are hardcovers and softcovers, series by familiar authors and many one-of-a-kind too numerous to count, a news release stated. Books are continually being recycled so there is always something new.
New this season will be an informal book reading club that will meet in conjunction with the open hours of the library. Read a book of choice and come prepared to discuss it. Bring a lawn chair for the outdoor gathering.
All items are for the taking, no exchange necessary. Book donations are accepted. Library organizers prefer no encyclopedias, textbooks, cassette and video tapes.
“We want to keep America reading by making available the materials at no cost,” the release stated. There is plenty of room for browsing.
