GLAPA to host dueling guitars performance
Greater Lakes Area Performing Arts welcomes the wild and crazy dueling guitars act SongBlast at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 7, in the Pequot Lakes High School auditorium.
Recording artists Pat Balder and Glen Everhart promise musical variety and clever comedy at their show.
The performers have a combined 50 years of artistry and have spent their lives writing, performing and loving all genres of popular American music. Balder knows every rock 'n' roll classic through and through. Everhart knows just about every acoustic guitar-based hit ever to grace the airwaves.
They always involve the audience with powerful vocal and guitar arrangements.
Everhart has a background in musical comedy and a bachelor's degree in guitar and vocal performance. He has also sold more than 30,000 CDs and 10,000 downloads of his original music.
Like Everhart, Balder earned a bachelor's degree in guitar and vocal performance. He serves on the adjunct faculty at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, where he teaches songwriting. He has also written and produced corporate music for Target, Harley Davidson and Sun Country.
Tickets for SongBlast's show are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors (60-plus) and $10 for youth (18-under). Seats can be reserved online at www.glapa.info or by calling Community Education at 218-568-9200. Credit cards are accepted.
