Tribute bands to Journey and Garth Brooks and more live bands will take an outdoor stage Friday-Saturday, Aug. 23-24, at the Green Lantern, east of Brainerd off Highway 18.
The outdoor concert event -- Summer Lantern Bash -- includes three nights of camping and a bean bag tournament at 1 p.m. Saturday, with registration at noon.
“Summer Lantern Bash is about the opportunity to fit in one more outdoor concert in the local Brainerd area before summer ends and for prices that you can’t beat,” stated Carolyn Huff of Huff Entertainment Solutions in a news release. “We really strive to keep all the prices as low as possible to stretch out everybody’s summer budget funds for one more weekend of fun! With the advance pricing, people can camp three nights and see two nights of live entertainment for only $50. And since camping is sold by the site and not per person, you can bring a spouse, a friend, a relative for only $20 more because all they need is a weekend pass. It’s hard to beat that deal.”
The campground, adjacent to the Green Lantern on Crow Wing County Highway 8, opens at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, with check-in until 8 p.m. Concert gates open 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
DJ Tina will play music between artist sets and inside the Green Lantern after the concerts. The concert event is all ages. Parking is free.

More about the bands
“SFO-A Tribute To Journey, with a salute to Foreigner and Kansas,” is made up of musicians with decades of touring experience including Florida, Minnesota and Nashville, Tennessee. “World According to Garth” is a full two-hour Garth Brooks tribute production unlike anything an audience has ever seen before, its website states.
“Incorporating state of the art lighting and special effects, coupled with Christopher Seebeck’s spot on Garth Brooks voice, precision mannerisms, his endless passion and energy that recreate all the emotions you feel being in the audience at a Garth Brooks concert,” the website states.
“Lipstick-n-Dynamite has quickly become one of the most sought after bands in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas,” its website states. “Their combined years of stage experience and precision musicianship is just part of the appeal that LND brings.
“This band genuinely loves to play together and the chemistry they have amongst themselves oozes off the stage and into their fans. The dance floor is always full, and the show is a non-stop blast of entertaining music and showmanship. Offering a variety of rock hits from the ‘80s, ‘90s and today, Lipstick-n-Dynamite prides themselves on being a band for all to enjoy.”
